ADCT showcases development projects in Burkina Faso's Goulmou region
The Agence nationale d’Appui au Développement des Collectivités territoriales (ADCT) launched a press caravan in the Goulmou region to showcase infrastructure investments in health, education, and craftsmanship.
In Fada N’Gourma, the caravan visited 22 glass-fronted artisan boutiques constructed at a cost of 55 million CFA francs through the Programme pour la Résilience, la Gouvernance locale et les Services de Base (PREGOLS). These facilities provide a permanent space for local weavers and artisans to display cultural products such as traditional fabrics and art. The project also serves as a revenue stream for the municipality, which collects monthly rents of 10,000 CFA francs per shop.
In the commune of Diabo, specifically in Sabtenga, the initiative funded educational infrastructure through the Fonds de Développement communal III (FDC III). This project, costing over 44 million CFA francs, includes three classrooms, an office, a store, and latrines, aimed at replacing temporary thatched structures with permanent school buildings.
