Addis Ababa to Host First-Ever World Public Summit in Africa

The World Peoples Assembly will hold the inaugural World Public Summit on the African continent in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from July 29‑30, 2026. The two‑day event, themed “A New World: Africa in Shaping a Shared Future,” will convene government leaders, diplomats, business executives, academics, innovators, media professionals and cultural figures to discuss governance, sustainable development, economic integration, ethical AI and other global issues.

Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary‑General of the World Peoples Assembly, said the summit “is not just a meeting—it is a space for unity… a space where the values that unite us come to life: respect for people, openness to the world, responsibility for the future, and a commitment to creation.” He added that “travel has always been about more than moving from one place to another. When people gather to exchange ideas, they also discover cultures, build trust and create partnerships that continue long after the event ends.”

The programme includes high‑level roundtables, expert panels, an exhibition of contemporary African art, cultural performances and a showcase of the Zambezi River project, highlighting regional cooperation across several Southern African nations.
