Addolorata Staterini acquitted by Naples Court of Appeal
The Naples Court of Appeal has issued a definitive acquittal for Addolorata Staterini, known as ‘lady Vastarella,’ ending a long judicial process regarding her alleged involvement with the Camorra crime syndicate.
Staterini, the wife of boss Patrizio Vastarella, had previously been sentenced to eight years in prison for mafia association. Prosecutors had alleged she played a central role in the Sanità district clan, managing finances, supporting affiliates, and acting as a messenger between her incarcerated husband and operational members following a 2018 police crackdown.
The acquittal follows legal challenges by her defense, which highlighted issues regarding the legitimacy of wiretap authorizations and a lack of concrete evidence to support the prosecution's claims.
