Adega do Cartaxo launches new non-alcoholic wine brand
Adega do Cartaxo has launched Absolvido, a new brand of non-alcoholic wines consisting of a sparkling wine and a white wine, both with 0% alcohol content. The cooperative claims to be the first Portuguese wine cooperative to introduce its own brand of dealcoholized products.
The wines are produced using Fernão Pires and Moscatel Graúdo grapes from the Bairro terroir in the Cartaxo sub-region of the Tejo wine region. The initiative aims to address shifting consumer habits and the increasing demand for low-alcohol or alcohol-free alternatives while maintaining the traditional wine-drinking ritual.
Pedro Gil, the enology director at Adega do Cartaxo, noted that developing the range was a significant challenge due to the novelty of the market, emphasizing the goal of ensuring high quality and flavor. The Absolvido 0% white wine is priced at 6 euros per bottle, while the Absolvido 0% white sparkling wine is priced at 7.50 euros. The products are currently reaching the market and are available through the cooperative's online store.
