Adekunle Gold recounts near arrest in U.S. over bootleg streaming

Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has shared an account of a near-arrest experience he had while living in the United States. During an interview on the 90’s Baby Podcast, the singer revealed that he almost faced legal consequences after using an unauthorized bootleg website to watch a television show.

Gold stated that the telecommunications company AT&T detected his internet activity and issued a warning via both email and a physical letter. The communication informed him that the activity had been tracked and noted it was his first offense. Realizing his online actions were being monitored, the singer immediately ceased using the unauthorized platform.
