A member of the Adelaide Football Club cheer squad has faced significant backlash after being photographed wearing black face paint during the Crows’ elimination final win against the Western Bulldogs.

Social media users and rival supporters criticized the imagery, with some calling out the club for allowing the display. In response to the controversy, the woman involved defended her actions, stating she had no intention to offend. She explained that the black paint and gloves were intended to make her costume look like a realistic depiction of the club mascot, Claude the Crow.
