Adelaide University launches AI-specialised Master of Mathematical Sciences program
Adelaide University announced a new Master of Mathematical Sciences that specialises in Artificial Intelligence. The degree combines advanced mathematical theory with practical AI topics such as optimisation, stochastic processes, deep learning, and generative modelling, aiming to prepare graduates for roles in data science, robotics, finance, healthcare analytics and other technology‑driven sectors.
The university also highlighted its Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) with a major in Pure Mathematics. The undergraduate programme covers core subjects including calculus, linear algebra, statistics and advanced pure‑math areas such as number theory, group theory and functional analysis, and includes an honours year with research projects and industry‑linked experience.
Both courses are designed to equip students with strong analytical skills and to open pathways into research, industry and academia.
