Adelante Andalucía proposes cutting housing aid for high-ranking officials

Adelante Andalucía has proposed a legislative amendment to Law 3/2005 aimed at eliminating rental and housing allowances for high-ranking officials within the Junta de Andalucía administration. The political coalition estimates that these compensations currently cost the annual budget between 1.5 million and 1.8 million euros.

The proposal comes amid a reported increase in the number of high-ranking positions under the current PP and Vox coalition government, which has risen to 314 officials for 2026. Spokesperson José Ignacio García criticized the practice, noting that some officials receive up to 2,000 euros per month for housing on top of their salaries, contrasting this with the ongoing housing crisis faced by the general population.
