Nigeria leaders promote cultural heritage and industrial investment

Nigerian officials and religious leaders are emphasizing the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of economic development through tradition and industry.

In Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke met with investors from Alive and Kicking Nigeria Limited in London to discuss industrializing the state. The group intends to establish a football manufacturing factory in the Osun Free Trade Zone and a talent academy to train local athletes. Additionally, during the Olojo Cultural Festival in Ile-Ife, Adeleke called for increased investment in cultural sites to drive tourism and employment.

In Ondo State, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to safeguarding indigenous traditions and empowering youth. During the Ulefunta Cultural Festival in Akure, Olawande supported the redesign and beautification of the Deji of Akure’s palace. The monarch, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, commended the initiative as a vital step in preserving the kingdom’s historical identity.

Separately, at the AVMCC National Harvest, the Dean of the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral Church, Emmanuel Ariire Kolawole, warned against the erosion of cultural values and the declining interest in history among Nigerian youth.
