Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has been declared the winner of the August 15, 2026, governorship election. Running under the Accord Party, Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes. The election saw a voter turnout of approximately 50.116 per cent.

While election observer Yiaga Africa stated that the official results fell within their statistical projections, the process faced scrutiny. Reports of vote-buying and voter inducement were raised, though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rejected claims of ghost or hired voters, citing the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) as a safeguard.

The APC has indicated it is reviewing the results and exploring all legal avenues, including potential tribunal challenges, to address observed anomalies. Meanwhile, the victory has drawn congratulations from various political figures, including President Bola Tinubu and former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki. In the wake of the election, singer Davido announced he will no longer participate in Nigerian politics.
