Aden Drug Control Department launches anti-drug football tournament

The Aden Drug Control Department, part of the Aden Police and National Security Forces, has announced a seven-a-side football tournament titled ‘No to Drugs, Yes to Sports’. The event is part of a security campaign aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of narcotics among youth.

Sponsored by the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, and supervised by Aden Police Director General Major General Mutahar Al-Shuaibi, the tournament will feature four clubs: Al-Mina, Al-Rawdah, Shamsan, and Al-Jalaa. The matches are scheduled to take place at the Al-Rawdah Club field in the Al-Qalua area of the Tawahi district on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Lieutenant Colonel Mayas Haidara Al-Jadani, Director of the Aden Drug Control Department, met with club officials to distribute match kits featuring the anti-drug slogan. The initiative seeks to provide young people with positive outlets for creativity and community engagement while promoting healthy lifestyles.
