Aden establishes first recycling association for sustainable development

The Recycling Ambassadors Association for Sustainable Development has been officially established in Aden, marking the first formal association dedicated to the recycling sector registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.

The initiative is a key outcome of the project to integrate waste collectors, funded by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) under the Strengthening Community-Led Resilience (SCLR) program. The Creative Solutions Initiative coordinated the project, which included training, qualifying beneficiaries, and managing legal procedures to ensure the rights of waste workers and promote environmental protection.

Following a transparent election process supervised by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, an administrative board was selected by consensus. The association has established its official headquarters in the Dar Sad district, specifically in the Al-Basatin area.
