Aden Holloway's drug charges dismissed

Alabama men’s basketball guard Aden Holloway has had his drug charges dismissed following his completion of a second-chance program in Tuscaloosa County.

Holloway was originally arrested in March after the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force found 2.1 pounds of marijuana at his residence. The initial charges included first-degree possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, failure to affix a tax stamp, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

To resolve the legal issues, Holloway entered a second-chance program in June. The requirements included paying court-ordered sums, completing 50 hours of community service, attending educational classes, and submitting a letter acknowledging responsibility for his actions.

While the legal hurdles have been cleared, Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne previously stated that any decision regarding Holloway’s return to the team would be premature and subject to multiple steps. Holloway was a key player for the Crimson Tide last season, averaging 16.8 points per game.
