Aden inaugurates new marine rescue tower at Ashaq Coast
A new marine rescue tower has been inaugurated at the Ashaq Coast in the Tawahi district of Aden. The project was launched with support from the Tawahi local authority and under the sponsorship of the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh.
The initiative aims to enhance maritime safety and protect citizens and visitors from drowning incidents, which have increased during monsoon seasons when sea conditions become turbulent. The project involved preparing the site and constructing concrete foundations to permanently secure the tower.
The tower will serve as a high-altitude observation point for rescue teams from the Aden Divers Rescue Association, enabling rapid response to emergencies. The project was implemented in coordination with the Office of Public Works and Roads and local tourism and rescue authorities to ensure a safer environment for domestic tourism.
