Aden launches free eye disease screening camp in Al-Mansoura

A free medical camp for the early detection of eye diseases has opened at the Hashid Health Complex in the Al-Mansoura district of Aden. The initiative, which runs from September 13 to 15, 2026, aims to provide early diagnosis, prevent complications, and refer serious cases for further treatment.

The camp is supported by the Aden Governor's office and coordinated by the local Health Office, with contributions from Al-Qimma Eyewear and implementation by Aban Eyewear Group. It targets more than 600 individuals, specifically focusing on high-risk groups such as the elderly, diabetic patients, and those with hypertension.

Services provided include examinations for conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and cataracts, as well as the distribution of prescription eyeglasses at no cost. Officials noted that due to high demand, the camp may be extended for up to a week. Additionally, the health complex has launched a new electronic financial system to improve administrative efficiency.
