Aden official inspects fish market and local development projects
Mahmoud bin Jaradi, the Director General of Sira District in Aden, conducted a field inspection of the local fish market to monitor compliance with official pricing. Accompanied by the Director of the Industry and Trade Office, bin Jaradi emphasized the need for increased oversight to prevent price manipulation and monopolistic practices that could harm citizens.
During the visit, bin Jaradi also reviewed several ongoing service and development projects in the district. This included the restoration of the Education Office building, a project funded by the European Union through UNESCO under a cash-for-work program. The restoration utilizes traditional building materials, such as pumice and lime, to preserve the building’s historical and architectural identity.
Additionally, the inspection covered the rehabilitation and painting of the central median on Queen Arwa Street, an initiative aimed at improving the urban landscape and visual environment of the district. Bin Jaradi stated that the local authority remains committed to monitoring these projects to ensure they meet technical specifications and completion timelines.
