Aden officials launch health and food security initiatives

In Aden, Yemen, several government and international initiatives are underway to address public health, nutrition, and food security. The Ministry of Public Health and Population is coordinating with partners like UNICEF and the World Food Programme to enhance primary healthcare, maternal and child health, and nutrition interventions.

A recent training program titled ‘From Mother to Mother’ was launched for 150 participants to promote healthy behaviors and nutritional practices among families. Additionally, an evaluative meeting for the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) was held to review performance indicators and address challenges in delivering nutritional services to vulnerable groups.

On the economic and food security front, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is working to improve the nutritional quality of flour and plans to establish grain silos and warehouses in liberated governorates. This initiative aims to strengthen strategic reserves and ensure the stability of essential food supplies through partnerships with the private sector and development partners.
