Aden officials meet to accelerate road and utility projects

Abdulrahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, held a meeting with the Minister of Public Works and Roads, Hussein al-Aqrabbi, and the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Adnan al-Kaf, to accelerate several infrastructure projects in the capital.

A primary focus of the discussion was the Sea Road project, which is funded by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen. Officials discussed reviewing the costs for electricity and water services associated with the road to ensure they align with actual project requirements, facilitating the completion of technical and financial procedures.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the President Hadi Road project, extending from the Caltex roundabout to the Al-Buraiqeh district. It was agreed that this project would be funded equally by the Aden local authority and the Road and Bridge Maintenance Fund. The meeting also covered general road maintenance, traffic congestion management, and the necessity of coordination between utility sectors to prevent conflicting infrastructure works.
