Aden water authorities inspect drainage and renewable energy projects
Officials from the Aden Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation are conducting field inspections to manage water services and infrastructure in the Yemeni capital. Acting Director General Zaki Haddad and Deputy Governor Awad Mubajer have been overseeing emergency drainage operations in several districts, including Sira, Ma'alla, and Tawahi, to mitigate the effects of recent heavy rainfall and prevent road blockages.
In a separate effort to enhance long-term water security, officials including Mohammed Saeed Al-Muflihi and Zaki Haddad inspected the Bir Ahmed field in the Al-Buraiqeh district. The inspection focused on several strategic projects aimed at increasing production capacity through renewable energy. These include a 1-megawatt solar power plant funded by the German Development Bank (KfW) and the implementation of projects to drill and rehabilitate artesian wells using solar energy, supported by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and Direct Aid from Kuwait.
