Adeniyi Adeyemi remanded over alleged forgery and impersonation
The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Adeniyi Adeyemi at the Kuje Correctional Centre following an eight-count charge involving forgery, impersonation, and conspiracy.
Prosecutors allege that Adeyemi falsely represented himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), which they described as a fictitious agency. The charges claim that between 2024 and 2025, Adeyemi and other suspects conspired to forge presidential appointment letters, State House documents, and official correspondence. This includes a purportedly issued appointment letter from President Bola Tinubu, signed by then Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
Adeyemi is also accused of forging presidential letterheads and documents related to land allocation, office accommodation, and staff accounts. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. While the defense has filed for bail, the prosecution requested his remand based on his conduct prior to his arrest.
