Adeniyi Kayode trial adjourned in fatal Anthony Joshua crash
A Nigerian magistrate court has adjourned the trial of Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, until November 17. Kayode is facing a four-count charge following a fatal collision on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on December 29, 2025.
Prosecutors allege that Kayode was attempting to overtake another vehicle in a Lexus SUV when the vehicle struck a stationary truck. The accident resulted in the deaths of Anthony Joshua’s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and his strength and conditioning coach, Sina Ghami. Joshua survived the crash with minor injuries.
Kayode has denied all charges, which include dangerous driving causing death, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care and attention, and operating a vehicle without a valid national driver’s licence. Investigators noted the SUV was likely exceeding the speed limit at the time of the incident.
