ADEX projects up to 15% growth in Pisco production

Pisco production in Peru is projected to grow between 12% and 15% this year, according to Carmen Robatty de Moquillaza, president of the Pisco Committee of the Association of Exporters (ADEX). This growth is contingent upon favorable weather conditions and the impact of the El Niño Costero phenomenon on grape crops.

Producers are implementing preventive measures to protect crops, warehouses, and infrastructure from potential heavy rains. Official reports from ENFEN indicate that El Niño Costero could persist until mid-2027, with a high probability of extraordinary magnitude between late 2026 and January 2027. Forecasts suggest above-normal precipitation for the northern and central coasts during the upcoming summer.

The Pisco Denomination of Origin covers the regions of Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua, and Tacna. The sector is characterized by a high percentage of artisanal producers and new ventures, which account for 90% to 95% of activity, while larger wineries have focused on infrastructure, equipment, and market expansion.
