ADFC Cycling Climate Test invites nationwide feedback on bicycle infrastructure

The ADFC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club) is conducting its twelfth nationwide 'Fahrradklima-Test' (Cycling Climate Test), inviting cyclists to evaluate the quality of bicycle paths, safety, and parking availability. The survey is open until November 30, and for the first time, includes a dedicated component for children and adolescents to assess their experiences with independent cycling.

In Wertheim, Mayor Markus Herrera Torrez has encouraged residents to participate to help implement targeted improvements to local cycling infrastructure, building on a 2021 concept that included 70 measures. Similarly, in the Lausitz region, the ADFC Brandenburg aims to use the results to engage with local and state politics, particularly regarding the needs of rural areas where intersections and path connectivity remain issues.

The survey is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport through the National Cycling Plan. Results and the ranking of Germany’s most bicycle-friendly cities are expected to be released in spring 2027.
