ADFC launches 2026 bicycle climate test in Dorsten

The Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC) has launched its 2026 bicycle climate test, inviting residents of Dorsten to evaluate local cycling conditions. The online survey, which remains open until November 30, allows citizens to report on road safety, general friendliness toward cyclists, and specific areas requiring infrastructure improvements.

In a previous assessment, Dorsten received an overall grade of 3.85 on a scale of 1 to 6, performing slightly better than the German national average. The results of this current survey are intended to help municipalities identify strengths and weaknesses to guide future development. National results are expected to be published in the spring of 2027.

A new feature of this year's test is a dedicated survey for children and adolescents, aiming to incorporate their perspectives on cycling traffic for the first time. The study consists of three components: assessments for adults, assessments for children and youth, and assessments for municipalities.
