Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury demands apology from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has called for an apology from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. Chowdhury alleged that the national flag has not been hoisted at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur for the past 52 years.

During a press interaction, Chowdhury addressed the status of national symbols, stating that the national anthem and national song have always held recognition in the country. He also defended the use of ‘Vande Mataram’, noting its historical significance during the partition era and asserting that attempts to alter its status are regrettable.

In response to the criticisms, Maharashtra Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, urged for a careful understanding of Bhagwat’s statements. Kadam suggested that the RSS chief's remarks should be viewed positively and interpreted through their underlying objectives rather than being taken negatively.
