adidas and Fresh Rags launch limited 'Boiled Peanuts' sneaker

adidas and Florida retailer Fresh Rags are releasing a special edition of the Handball Spezial sneaker inspired by the Southern snack of boiled peanuts. The shoe, dubbed “Boiled Peanuts,” features a dark‑brown ripstop upper, tan peanut‑shell‑textured overlays and white, red and yellow accents that echo the snack’s packaging. The collaboration is limited to 813 individually numbered pairs, a reference to the St. Petersburg area code.

The release is scheduled for August 8, 2026 at 11 a.m. during an in‑person event at Coastal Creative in St. Petersburg, Florida. Attendees will receive complimentary hot boiled peanuts, live music from DJ Joey Franchize and other guests, and the chance to purchase the sneakers before any remaining stock is made available online later that evening.
