Adidas proposes six-year global apparel deal to Santos FC
Adidas has presented a binding proposal to Santos FC to become the club's new sports apparel provider. The offer includes a six-year contract set to begin in 2028, which is more financially advantageous than the renewal terms currently being negotiated with the club's existing supplier, Umbro.
A key component of the Adidas proposal is a global distribution plan. The brand intends to sell official Santos products in approximately 120 physical stores across Brazil, Europe, the United States, and Asia, potentially increasing the club's international visibility and revenue.
The current contract with Umbro is scheduled to end in December 2027. Under existing contractual terms, Umbro has been notified of the Adidas offer and maintains the right to match the terms presented. The 2028 start date for the Adidas deal accounts for the longer production lead times required by major brands like Adidas compared to Umbro, as well as avoiding early termination penalties.
