IBM and Adidas report record third-quarter financial results
IBM and Adidas both reported strong third-quarter financial results for 2026, driven by growth in software and strategic refunds respectively.
IBM reported third-quarter revenue of $17.1 billion, a 5% increase year-over-year, surpassing analyst expectations. The company’s software division grew 8.3% to $7.8 billion, bolstered by demand for hybrid cloud and data solutions. CEO Arvind Krishna noted that clients are increasingly deploying ‘Super Intelligence’ to transform entire operating models. Consequently, IBM raised its full-year free cash flow outlook by more than $1 billion.
Adidas achieved record third-quarter revenues of 7.25 billion euros, a 9% increase. Operating profit rose 37% to 1.01 billion euros, its highest quarterly level on record. This performance was supported by a 200 million euro refund of U.S. tariff claims and healthy full-price sales. Following these results, Adidas raised its full-year 2026 operating profit forecast to approximately 2.5 billion euros.
