Adidas debuts farewell Germany kit and signs Santos FC deal

Adidas has unveiled a special edition farewell kit for the German national team, marking the end of a 72-year partnership. The black jersey features gold diamond pinstripes, the retro Trefoil logo, and the historic DFB crest used between 1978 and 1996. The design also includes a ‘Seit 1954’ inscription to honor the year the sponsorship began.

The kit was debuted during a UEFA Nations League match against the Netherlands, which also served as the first match under new German head coach Jürgen Klopp. The partnership is set to officially conclude on December 31, 2026, with Nike taking over as the technical supplier for the German Football Association starting January 1, 2027.

In separate commercial news, Adidas has secured a new sponsorship deal with the Brazilian club Santos FC. The agreement, set to begin in 2028 and run through 2033, is expected to exceed R$ 250 million in total value, including fixed payments, royalties, and performance bonuses. This transition will see Santos move from its current supplier, Umbro, to Adidas, with the brand promising significantly expanded retail distribution across Brazil and internationally.
