Adif advances railway infrastructure projects in Soria and El Vendrell

Adif, Spain's railway infrastructure manager, is moving forward with several distinct projects across the country. In Soria, the company has awarded a 4.47 million euro contract for the comprehensive remodeling of the El Cañuelo train station. The project, to be executed by Torrescamara over 14 months, will focus on improving accessibility, expanding the main passenger lobby, installing new elevators, and upgrading energy efficiency while preserving the historical 1920s aesthetic of the building.

Meanwhile, in El Vendrell, local authorities and residents are expressing concern over the potential reactivation of a project to install acoustic noise barriers along urban tracks. The municipality previously opposed the plan in 2021, arguing that the panels, which could reach five meters in height, would create a 'Chinese wall' effect. Local opposition has called for alternative solutions, such as upgrading tracks and trains to reduce noise, rather than installing physical barriers.
