Adif documents reviewed in Koldo/Cerdán corruption probe

A judge at the Audiencia Nacional is reviewing documents seized from Adif as part of the ongoing Koldo/Cerdán investigation. The probe focuses on allegedly suspicious contract awards made during José Luis Ábalos’s tenure as Minister of Transport.

Former Adif president Isabel Pardo de Vera has requested the inclusion of specific documents to support her claims of innocence. These documents concern an emergency contract for stabilizing railway embankments between Gijón and Pravia in Asturias. The contract, valued at approximately 489,300 euros, was awarded to Levantina Ingeniería y Construcción S. L., a company suspected of benefiting from the corruption scheme.

Following a judicial request, Civil Guard agents delivered the requirement to Adif headquarters in Madrid. The investigation is examining the final amounts paid, including price revisions, to determine if the contract was manipulated.
