ADIF launches 254 electric vehicle charging points at 21 Spanish stations

ADIF and ADIF AV have completed the first phase of their electric‑vehicle charging network, making 254 charging points operational in the parking areas of 21 railway stations across Spain. The stations include Alcázar de San Juan, Antequera Santa Ana, Ferrol, Figueres, Girona, Huelva, Lleida Pirineus, Logroño, Medina del Campo AV, Monforte de Lemos, O Porriño, Pamplona, Puente Genil‑Herrera, Puertollano, Ronda, Santander, Sevilla Virgen del Rocío, Toledo, Tudela de Navarra and Zaragoza Delicias.

The rollout is part of ADIF’s climate‑action plan and aims to expand to around 900 points at more than 60 stations by 2026‑2027. The project, costing over €18.2 million, is funded by the EU’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Programme (NextGenerationEU). Users can access the chargers through the Waylet app or by card payment. The initiative supports sustainable mobility, European climate objectives and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on clean energy, industry innovation, sustainable cities and climate action.
