Aditi Yadav faces political harassment; BJP blamed and UP chief condemns remarks

Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of orchestrating an offensive social‑media campaign against her daughter, Aditi Yadav, saying it was intended to distract public attention from the controversy over alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir. She warned that “we must not let our attention be diverted” and linked the attacks to a pattern of the government shifting focus from serious incidents such as the Hathras case and a police‑station killing in Kanpur.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath publicly condemned the remarks made about Aditi Yadav, stating that “no insulting remark against any daughter will be accepted.” He announced that an FIR had been registered immediately after learning of the incident and urged political leaders to ensure their supporters maintain decorum. The comments were made during an event in Azamgarh where the chief minister inaugurated development projects and announced a new equestrian statue of Maharaja Suheldev.

Both parties emphasised the need to protect women’s dignity and to keep political discourse focused on substantive issues rather than personal attacks.
