Aditya Thackeray protests conversion of Mumbai football turf
Aditya Thackeray, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), has launched the ‘Red Card Movement’ to protest a proposal to convert the Neville D'Souza Football Turf, owned by the Mumbai Football Association, into an exhibition center. Thackeray accused the BJP of attempting to privatize public land and seize sports facilities for political interests and specific trusts, noting that the ground has served local players and youth for a decade.
Separately, Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC addressed several political issues, including the Mahayuti alliance's agenda for Maharashtra's development. She defended the government's stance on the Women's Reservation Bill, countering criticisms from Congress leader P. Chidambaram regarding the link between reservation, census, and delimitation. NC also commented on language requirements for taxi and rickshaw drivers in Mumbai and addressed recent unfortunate incidents in Mazgaon.
