Adivi Sesh urges Assam government to review Kaziranga resort development

Actor and environmentalist Adivi Sesh has written to the Assam government to express concern regarding reported approvals for resort development on land associated with Kaziranga National Park.

In his letter, Sesh urged authorities to conduct thorough environmental impact assessments to protect the region's biodiversity, specifically the endangered greater one-horned rhinoceros. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding natural corridors and wildlife habitats from the potential disruptions caused by commercial construction.

Sesh also called for greater transparency regarding the land involved and stressed the necessity of including local communities in the decision-making process. While acknowledging that tourism can provide economic benefits and employment, he argued that development in such ecologically sensitive areas must be guided by long-term environmental sustainability rather than immediate commercial interests.
