Adji Raby Sarr calls for reopening of Sweet Beauté legal case

The legal dispute known as the ‘Sweet Beauté’ affair continues to impact Senegalese society, involving Adji Raby Sarr and politician Ousmane Sonko. Adji Sarr has publicly expressed her readiness for the reopening of the case, demanding that justice be served following a previous ruling where Sonko was convicted of ‘corruption of youth’ while Sarr was acquitted of rape and death threat charges.

Former minister Babacar Gaye has called for the judiciary to resolve the matter decisively to prevent the controversy from further obscuring the country's fundamental political issues. Gaye emphasized that the truth must be uncovered to address the social and institutional damage caused by the case, which has been linked to loss of life and property destruction.

In a recent development, Ndèye Khady Ndiaye, the owner of the Sweet Beauté salon, has publicly apologized to Sarr and pledged to tell the full truth regarding the matter.
