Adjuto Afonso re-elected to seventh term in Amazonas Assembly

Adjuto Afonso, president of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam), has been re-elected to a seventh term following the first round of the 2026 elections. With this victory, Afonso becomes the deputy with the highest number of terms currently in office within the Assembly.

Afonso noted that the upcoming legislature will see a renewal of members, including former mayors from the interior and councilors from Manaus, which he believes will bring valuable political experience to the House. He expressed his commitment to representing the interests of the population of Amazonas in his new mandate, which begins on February 1.
