ADMIE capital increase fuels €6 bn of Greek grid projects

The Greek electricity transmission operator ADMIE is launching a €1 billion capital increase, with the book of offers opening on 16 June for three days. The Greek state, which holds a 51 % stake, and State Grid (which holds 24 %) have exercised their pre‑emptive rights, ensuring the public sector retains control.

According to ADMIE chief executive Manos Manousakis, the capital boost will enable a new investment cycle worth about €6 billion by 2029, driving priority projects such as HVDC interconnections for the Dodecanese, the North Aegean islands, and a second link to Italy, as well as continuing works like the Greece‑Bulgaria line, Crete’s submarine cables, and the final phase of the Cyclades interconnection. The financing is supported by the Greek government through the Recovery and Resilience Fund, signalling strong confidence from both domestic and foreign investors.
