Administrative appointments: New sub-prefects take office in Saint-Gaudens and Le Vigan

Laure Lebon has officially assumed her role as the sub-prefect of the Saint-Gaudens arrondissement in Haute-Garonne. Appointed by presidential decree on August 10, 2026, she succeeded Gilles Pellegrin, who moved to the role of sub-prefect in Aurillac.

Lebon, who began her career in the prefectural administration in 1997, brings extensive experience from roles in Seine-et-Marne, Guyane, and Martinique. In her new position, she is responsible for coordinating state action within the arrondissement, overseeing the legality of local government acts, and supporting the deployment of the France Services network in Haute-Garonne.

In Le Vigan, Christine Portero Espert has also taken office as the new sub-prefect. Having spent much of her career at the Ministry of Health, including managing water policy in the Pyrénées-Orientales, she officially began her duties with a traditional ceremony including a wreath-laying at the local war memorial. Her responsibilities will cover various administrative and local issues within the arrondissement.
