Administrative disputes reported in Coello and Salto

In Coello, Tolima, the Volunteer Firefighters Body has reported serious administrative and contractual irregularities. Members claim they have not received payments for several months due to delays in the annual contract signing process between the firefighters and the local Mayor's Office. The nine members report receiving monthly salaries of only one million pesos without social benefits, and they face deductions for taxes and stamps despite their volunteer status. Additionally, electronic invoices submitted between February and May were reportedly rejected by the administration and oversight bodies, further delaying funds.

In Salto, Uruguay, councilman Danny Coelho addressed the use of foundations within the Intendency to manage employment. While Coelho supports the use of foundations and cooperatives as a way to provide medical coverage and labor rights to former monotributistas, he criticized the administration's management of the transition. He specifically questioned the process of moving terminated officials into these new contractual roles, noting that their salaries were reduced by half, and highlighted a significant increase in trust-based positions under the current administration.
