Administrative leadership changes reported in Romanian education sectors

Reports indicate upcoming leadership changes within the Romanian school inspectorate system in Călărași and Hunedoara counties.

In Călărași, Călin Nicușor, a member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), is reportedly set to be appointed as the new school general inspector at ISJ Călărași on November 2. Nicușor, a chemistry teacher and former deputy general inspector, succeeds Roxana Natalia Pațurcă of the PNL. Nicușor has previously highlighted chronic shortages of qualified teaching staff in the region.

In Hunedoara, Maria Ștefănie, the current school general inspector and a PSD county councilor, is expected to be appointed as the county prefect. Her name is reportedly included in a government draft decision regarding the appointment and dismissal of prefects and sub-prefects. Ștefănie has served as the head of the Hunedoara County School Inspectorate for several years.
