Administrative shifts in Argentina and budget protests in Colombia

In Argentina, Ariel Guzmán has resigned as the administrator of the military social security agency (Iosfa). The resignation follows a period of significant financial instability, with the entity facing a debt of approximately 200,000 million pesos. The transition toward a new social security structure, OSFA, has left the former institution with substantial arrears to providers nationwide.

Following the resignation, members of the State Workers Association (ATE), led by Rodolfo Aguiar, occupied the agency's headquarters to protest the situation. The labor union highlighted risks to 600 jobs and widespread service disruptions.

In Colombia, victims of armed conflict and human rights defenders have protested against a proposed budget cut to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP). The proposal seeks to reduce the tribunal's budget by 100,000 million pesos for the 2027 fiscal year, redirecting funds to the Superior Council of the Judiciary.

The JEP has warned that such a reduction would impact 62% of its funds for goods and services and jeopardize nearly 20 million dollars in protection agreements with the National Protection Unit (UNP), potentially endangering witnesses, victims, and judicial officials.
