Administrative updates for property and vehicle registration in Baruta and Bogotá

The Baruta Mayor's Office has announced a special session for the update of cadastral certificates on Saturday, August 15. This initiative, led by Mayor Darwin González, aims to assist residents in obtaining the documentation necessary for the legalization and sale of real estate within the municipality. The process will take place at the main headquarters of the Baruta Mayor's Office in Colinas de Bello Monte from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Applicants must provide property documents, personal identification, and a printed application form downloaded from the official website.

In Bogotá, the District Mobility Secretariat (SDM) is urging vehicle buyers and sellers to formalize ownership transfers through the Single Service Window. Authorities emphasize that a sales contract alone is insufficient; the transfer must be registered in the National Unified Transit Registry (RUNT) to prevent sellers from remaining legally and financially liable for fines, taxes, or accidents involving the vehicle. Requirements include original identification, RUNT registration, valid SOAT and technical-mechanical inspections, and proof of payment for vehicle taxes and traffic fines.
