US Pacific Command chief visits India to strengthen defense ties

Admiral Samuel J Paparo, Commander of the US Pacific Command, has arrived in India for a six-day official visit from October 3 to October 8. The visit is intended to strengthen the India-US Major Defence Partnership and enhance military-to-military collaboration within the Indo-Pacific region.

During the visit, Admiral Paparo will hold discussions with senior officials from the Indian Ministry of Defence and the Indian Armed Forces. Key agenda items include regional strategic stability, digital transformation, and the integration of emerging critical technologies. The two nations are also focusing on bolstering defense energy resilience and navigating a highly competitive global technology landscape.

This high-level engagement follows recent bilateral activities, including the conclusion of the 22nd edition of the Yudh Abhyas joint military exercise on September 27.
