Adán Augusto López reports 48 million pesos in debt

Mexican Senator Adán Augusto López Hernández has reported 48 million pesos in debt in his 2026 asset declaration, despite an annual salary of approximately 1.8 million pesos. The report shows three major debt acquisitions within a six-month period in 2024 and 2025: a 6-million-peso personal loan in November 2024, a 30-million-peso personal loan in February 2025, and a 12-million-peso installment purchase in April 2025.

The current filing lacks any mention of real estate, vehicles, or business interests, which contrasts sharply with previous declarations. During his tenure as Governor of Tabasco, López Hernández reported owning a house valued at 8.3 million pesos, commercial premises, cars, jewelry, and stakes in companies such as Corporación Inmobiliaria Villahermosa and Organización Delit.

Additionally, discrepancies have been noted between his official filings and his own public statements. In 2025, the senator acknowledged earning 22.6 million pesos in 2023 and 24.5 million pesos in 2024, figures that do not appear in his patrimonial reports.
