Adnan Dalgakıran calls for industrial transformation in Turkey

Adnan Dalgakıran, a candidate for the Presidency of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), has called for a comprehensive transformation within Turkish industry to maintain global competitiveness. He noted that Turkey faces a dual challenge: competing with China’s massive production power and Europe’s technological and efficiency advantages.

Dalgakıran argued that relying solely on cost reduction is no longer a viable strategy. Instead, he emphasized the need for an integrated approach that addresses raw materials, energy, labor, automation, digitalization, access to finance, and production capacity simultaneously. He stressed that the industry must move beyond old cost structures and embrace automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.

Furthermore, Dalgakıran proposed a shift in the industrial incentive system toward a results-oriented model. He suggested that government supports should be measurable, with regular monitoring of how R&D and investment incentives contribute to actual increases in production, exports, and overall efficiency.
