Ado-Ekiti: Man kills wife with machete during domestic dispute

A 25-year-old woman, Kehinde Onize, was killed by her husband, Sadiq Ibrahim, during a domestic dispute in the Dalimore area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. The incident occurred on a Wednesday morning while family friends were attempting to mediate the couple's marital issues at the residence of a friend of the deceased’s father.

During the confrontation, Ibrahim allegedly attacked Onize repeatedly with a machete, inflicting fatal injuries. The suspect, a meat seller also known as Alfa Eleran, fled the scene immediately following the attack and remains at large. He reportedly took the victim's mobile phone, which the family believes contains crucial evidence.

Family members stated that the couple had been experiencing significant domestic challenges, and Onize had reportedly been planning to leave the marriage. While the suspect is still being sought, police have taken several individuals present at the scene into custody to assist with the ongoing investigation.
