Adobe integrates generative AI tools into Premiere Pro
Adobe has introduced new generative AI tools within Premiere Pro designed to streamline the post-production workflow. The latest release includes a ‘Generate Video’ feature that allows editors to fill gaps in a timeline by creating new shots that match the existing project's color grading, lighting, and composition using reference frames.
Users can choose between Adobe’s commercially safe Firefly model or partner engines such as Google Veo, Kling, Runway, and Luma. To ensure traceability, assets created via Firefly include Content Credentials.
On the audio side, the update introduces tools for generating sound effects, soundscapes, and music. Editors can generate sound effects by using their own voice as a timing and rhythm guide, such as snapping fingers to generate footsteps. Other beta features include ‘Generate Soundscape’, which analyzes video to suggest ambient layers, and ‘Generate Music’, which creates royalty-free background tracks without vocals.
