Adobe launches AI connector linking Claude to Creative Cloud tools

Adobe released the Adobe for Creativity connector on April 28, 2026, enabling Anthropic’s Claude AI assistant to control more than 50 Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign, Express, Firefly and Adobe Stock. Users enter plain‑language prompts in Claude; the assistant interprets the intent, selects the appropriate Adobe functions and executes them in sequence without the user opening individual apps. This “tool‑blind prompting” model reverses the usual workflow, making Claude the interface and Adobe’s software the engine.

The connector operates via Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol, exposing Adobe tools as callable functions through an MCP server. It can, for example, transform a horizontal video into an Instagram Reels‑ready clip by automatically handling cropping, subject framing, aspect‑ratio conversion and final export, all without the user touching Premiere. The launch marks a strategic shift for Adobe, moving from embedded AI features inside its own apps to an external AI‑driven orchestration layer, a move comparable to Microsoft’s Copilot integration in Office.
