Adobe names Anil Chakravarthy as next CEO

Adobe CEO transition Anil Chakravarthy Shantanu Narayen artificial intelligence

Adobe has announced that Anil Chakravarthy will become the company’s next president and chief executive officer, effective December 1, 2026. Chakravarthy, a veteran of Adobe’s enterprise software division, will also join the company’s board of directors upon taking the role.

Shantanu Narayen, who has led the company for approximately two decades, will transition to the role of executive chair. Narayen will work closely with Chakravarthy during the transition to support Adobe’s ongoing transformation, particularly as the company focuses on growth within an increasingly AI-driven software market.

Chakravarthy joined Adobe in January 2020 and currently leads the Customer Experience Orchestration business and worldwide field operations. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in scaling the Adobe Experience Platform and overseeing the integration of acquisitions such as Workfront and Semrush.
